King of All Kings

06/21/2020

Far away from the little town of Bethlehem, men stared at the sky.  They saw a bright new star shining down.  They looked to each other and said, "He's Here!"

These men would have a long journey ahead of them.  But they knew that the one who had arrived was worth travelling many months to see and to worship.

The wise men may have learned about the new King from Daniel, who had written about the rescuer many years earlier.  And now, they traveled to see the one who would rule forever and whose kingdom would never be destroyed.

The star hanging in the sky was like a map, guiding the wise men to Jesus.  Just like the star, the Bible is a map leading to the new King.  Jesus is the rescuer who came and the King who will return one day to rule forever!

Intro

In the far east, wise men saw a star as a sign that a new King had been born.

Read the Story for Yourself!

Matthew 2

Take a sec to read the story directly from God's Word!  You can find it in Matthew 2.

A great way to read it is in the International Children's BIble (ICB) translation.  It's a simple and accurate Bible translation designed for kids.  Adults, like me, like it too!

Jesus is the King of All kings!

Jesus came to save people from their sins.  But He was also a King.  He is the King that is better than David.  The King who will rule forever and whose kingdom will never be destroyed.

When Jesus grew up, He began to tell people about a coming Kingdom: the Kingdom of God.  The Kingdom seemed upside down.  Leaders were supposed to be servants!  And the Jesus, the King, was the greatest servant of all.  Jesus called people to live for this Kingdom above all else.

If you surrender to Jesus, you can live for the Kingdom of God.  You can say, "Your Kingdom come, Your Will Be Done."  Then, your light can shine to people around you, pointing people to Jesus!
