Heaven Breaks Through

06/28/2020

The King of All Kings had been born!  He was the rescuer God had promised so long ago.  The wise men had traveled months and months just to see Him and worship Him.

As Jesus grew up in Nazareth, He grew in favor with God and with people.  Few people realized who Jesus really was and that He would change the whole world!

But when Jesus showed up to the Jordan River one day, it became obvious that Jesus was a big deal!  All they had to do was look and listen.  This was God's own Son!

Sing and Shout Jesus' name!  You can worship Jesus like the wise men did.  You can look to Jesus all of your days and find joy in the risen King!

Intro

The King of All Kings had arrived. But He still had to grow up. And we can't forget about the boy who had been born who would prepare the way.

Read the Story for Yourself!

Matthew 3

Take a sec to read the story directly from God's Word!  You can find it in Matthew 3.

A great way to read it is in the International Children's BIble (ICB) translation.  It's a simple and accurate Bible translation designed for kids.  Adults, like me, like it too!

Jesus is the Son of God!

Jesus' baptism that day showed everyone that this was so much more than a normal person or a messenger or a king.  Heaven had opened!  The Holy Spirit came down like a dove!  God Himself had spoken: This is MY OWN SON!

Wow!  God's Son had come to be the "Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world."  Was this a reference to Passover when a lamb died in the people's place?

God had sent His Son, because sin was much worse than the people thought.  They thought the blood of goats and lambs could pay for their sin.  Many thought they could live good enough on their own to pay for their own sin.

But they were wrong.  Only Jesus is strong enough to take sin away.

If you believe in Jesus, your sins can be forgiven! Jesus is strong enough to take your sin and my sin away!
